June 12, 2024 | Women's Tennis
ORLANDO, Fla. -- On Wednesday, the United States Tennis Association announced that North Carolina senior Fiona Crawley was selected to the 2024 USTA Collegiate Summer Team.
The USTA Collegiate Summer Team is composed of the top 12 American college players from the men's and women's ranks.
Crawley continues to accumulate accolades after her historic UNC career. Over the course of four years, Crawley compiled the fourth-most singles victories as a Tar Heel (141).
This past season, Crawley was named the 2024 Hurd Award winner for women's tennis, she was named an ITA All-American in singles and doubles while garnering first team All-ACC honors in singles and doubles.
Crawley's 2024 singles record of 18-5 and 20-4 record in doubles helped guide Carolina to its 12th ACC Championship in 2024. She later entered the 2024 NCAA Singles Championship as the No. 5 seed while earning a Top-8 seed in the NCAA Doubles Championship with Carson Tanguilig.
Crawley ended the 2024 season ranked No. 15 in singles and ranked No. 6 in doubles with Tanguilig.
Each of the players was selected based on a number of criteria, including rankings, individual collegiate tournament results or Intercollegiate Tennis Association honors. Players on the team are eligible to receive a grant for travel to USTA Pro Circuit events and coaching support over the summer.
Oklahoma State Assistant Coaches Martin Redlicki and Samantha Crawford will travel with and coach the men and the women, respectively, and will provide assistance to any American collegians playing at tournaments throughout the summer. The program is led by USTA National Coach Maureen Diaz.
