Eight Tar Heels Named To All-ACC Academic Team

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – North Carolina women's tennis student-athletes Fiona Crawley, Tatum Evans, Abbey Forbes, Thea Rabman, Elizabeth Scotty, Carson Tanguilig, Reilly Tran and Anika Yarlagadda have been named to the All-ACC Academic team, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Tuesday.
Carolina's eight All-ACC Academic team members were the most in the ACC.
Crawley and Scotty earned the recognition for the fourth time in their collegiate careers. Tanguilig, Tran and Yarlagadda were honored for the third time while Evans, Forbes and Rabman received their first All-ACC Academic honor.
The trio of Evans, Forbes and Rabman combined for 46 singles wins over the course of the 2023-24 season.
Crawley, a native of San Antonio, Texas, is an English and Comparative Literature major. Her 141 singles victories are the fourth-most in Carolina history.
Scotty and Tanguilig are Media and Journalism majors. The duo was named ITA Doubles All-American's earlier this month.
Tran and Yarlagadda combined for 43 singles victories and were a part of 36 doubles victories during the 2023-24 campaign.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's contests.
