CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina, in partnership with Unified Events, welcomed elite international soccer back to Kenan Stadium Tuesday night, as Celtic FC defeated Manchester City 4-3 in an exciting FC Series friendly in Chapel Hill.

It marked the second consecutive summer that Carolina played host to top European soccer clubs, having welcomed Chelsea and Wrexham to Kenan last year.
The contest was the third meeting between four-time defending Premier League Champion Man City and Celtic FC, and the first victory for either team, as a pair of draws came from two meetings in the UEFA Champions League Group Stages in 2016.
How we've been received has been absolutely first class. People have been so friendly and so helpful. We had a really lovely tour of the (Dean Smith Center) this morning. It's such a historic place. I had a lovely conversation with (Head Coach Hubert Davis). It's been really, really good.Brendan Rodgers, Celtic FC Manager

It's my first time here in North Carolina. The facilities were amazing, the hotel and people took care of us. In general it was really good.Pep Guardiola, Manchester City Manager
