UNC Is Recruiting 2024 Football Ushers And Ambassadors

The University of North Carolina Department of Athletics is recruiting volunteer football ushers for the upcoming 2024Â football season.

All volunteers are critical to creating a safe and welcoming environment in Kenan Stadium on game days and serve as the face of the Department of Athletics. All volunteers should be reliable, dedicated, observant and should possess strong communication skills.

Usher responsibilities include:
All volunteers must be able to remain in a standing position for several hours at a time, communicate with diverse groups of people and complete various tasks at the instruction of a supervisor. Volunteers must be available to attend training workshops and work all home football games. Each new volunteer will be required to complete a criminal background check and complete various volunteer documentation, as well as perform within UNC, ACC and NCAA policies and expectations. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

By submitting the Google Form, you are agreeing to all duties, expectations, qualities and responsibilities expected from a Tar Heel Usher.Â

Usher responsibilities include:
- Greeting fans and assisting them with finding their seats
- Developing a strong working knowledge in order to accurately provide directions and answer policy, team, facility, and event related questions
- Anticipating and responding to any issues and concerns that may arise
- Proactively inspecting areas for potential hazards and reporting them in a timely manner
- Maintaining safe and clear, aisles, stairways and portals
- Executing emergency plans as needed
- Assisting in overall crowd and event management
- Enhancing the overall experience of fans, staff and other Carolina Community Members
- Opportunity to be a part of the UNC Athletic Event Management team
- UNC volunteer uniform (generally includes hat, unique polo, jacket)
- Concession vouchers on game day
- Complimentary admission for volunteer and one guest or immediate family to all regular season UNC athletic events excluding men's basketball, football and post season events
