Tar Heels Start Strong At Kitty Harrison Invitational
September 13, 2024 | Women's Tennis
CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Tar Heels won two of three doubles matches and five of six singles matches on Friday as the defending ACC champion Carolina women's tennis team opened its fall season at the 2024 Kitty Harrison Invitational at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill.
Â
Carson Tanguilig, Thea Rabman, Tatum Evans, Alana Boyce and Susanna Maltby all won their singles matches in straight sets for UNC. The duos of Tanguilig and Evans and Maltby and Lindsay Zink won their doubles matches.
Â
Due to rain in Chapel Hill throughout the day, Friday's action moved to the Cone-Kenfield Indoor Courts, delaying the start times of Tar Heel singles and doubles matches by over 90 minutes.
Â
Other teams in action on Friday in the Kitty Harrison Invitational included Duke, Penn State, Old Dominion, Florida, Virginia and Purdue.
