Tommy Kitchell Named ACC Men's Field Performer Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Graduate student Tommy Kitchell earned his first indoor track and field accolade of the season when the Atlantic Coast Conference named him Men's ACC Field Performer Of The Week on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Kitchell continued his ascent up the UNC record book with his 19.69m shot put throw at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. He has moved up the all-time list for the second week in a row. Kitchell is now the number two shot putter in UNC history, surpassing Vikas Gowda's 2005 mark of 19.60m.
The throw from this past weekend now makes Kitchell the leader in the ACC and number two in the country.
