Cross County Earns At-Large Bids To NCAA Championships

Carolina will race at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri, on Saturday, November 22. The championships will be streamed live on ESPNU, with the women's race scheduled for 10:20 a.m. ET and the men's race at 11:10 a.m. ET.
Last year at NCAAs:
The men's team secured a strong sixth-place finish, marking its third consecutive top-10 finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The women's squad delivered an impressive 11th-place finish. Parker Wolfe (28:50.2) made history as the first male Tar Heel to earn four career All-America honors, achieving his best-ever finish at a national championship with the seventh-place finish.
How are the teams selected:
Qualifiers for both DI men's and women's cross country will be decided after action from regional championships.

The top two teams automatically qualify from each of the nine regions, for a total of 18 teams.

Fourteen additional teams will be selected at-large for a 32-team field.

Thirty-eight individuals will be selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.

The first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team also secure an auto-bid to the championships.
