Sjöberg Earns All-America Honors At NCAAs; Women Finish 11th

COLUMBIA, MO - Carolina cross country closed the door on the 2025 season at the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov 22, at Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
For the second straight year, the women's team finished 11th (413 points) in the country, led by All-America, Vera Sjöberg (18:56.5), who brought home the first top-ten finish by a women's runner for the first time since Brie Felnagle (19:53.3) took fourth in 2008. The team finished ahead of five teams ranked ahead of them, including No. 8 Oklahoma State and No. 10 Georgetown. The women moved up three spots to 11th, improving from 14th at the 1k marker.
The men's team finished in 28th with 603 points, as Colton Sands (29:07.9) was the first finisher for the men, finishing in 42nd.
