Neves Tabbed ACC Wrestler Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Nolan Neves has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.Â
The honor is the St. Paris, Ohio native's first of his Tar Heel career.Â
In Carolina's win over No. 15 Pitt last Friday night, Neves' victory at 285 pounds served as the difference maker, as the redshirt-freshman defeated No. 13 Dayton Pitzer by decision, 14-9.Â
With the team score knotted at 16-all after the 10 bouts, total match points served as the deciding factor in the night's matchup, with Neves' late takedown giving Carolina the advantage, 52-49.
Up next, the Tar Heels host Virginia Friday night inside Carmichael Arena. Action between Carolina and the Cavaliers gets underway at 7 PM.
