Men's Golf Eighth, Sandhu Wins Prestige Individual

Keaton Vo led the Tar Heels with a 4-under-par 67 Wednesday in the final round of The Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.
David Ford also shot under par in the final round with a 2-under 69 as Carolina finished eighth in the 24-team field. Carolina shot 275-297-280 to close at even-par 852.
San Diego was 18 under par in the third round to win the tournament at 29 under par, 16 strokes clear of Texas Tech. Ryan Abuan of San Diego was medalist at 11-under 202.
David Ford (66-75-69) tied for 19th at 3-under 210, Vo (70-74-67) tied for 27th at 2-under 211 and freshman Ethan Paschal (68-73-71) tied for 33rd at 1-under 212.
Also Wednesday, freshman Sihan Sandhu handily won The Prestige Individual, a separate tournament played at the Golf Club at Terra Lago in Indio, Calif.
Sandhu was the only player in the field to shoot below par and won the title by seven strokes. He shot 67-73-69 and finished 7-under 209. It was his first win as a Tar Heel.
