CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following the Tar Heels' 4-3 road win over No. 1 Georgia this past weekend, North Carolina junior Reese Brantmeier and freshman Alanis Hamilton earned ACC Player and Doubles Team of the Week honors, announced by the league on Tuesday.
Brantmeier led Carolina with a win over the top-ranked singles player in the country along with a win with Hamilton at number one doubles. Her win at No. 1 singles was the clinching point of the match.
It marks the first time Brantmeier has been named ACC Player of the Week, having earned ACC Freshman of the week four times in 2023.Â
Hamilton, a blue-chip early enrollee freshman, continues to step up for Carolina. Through her first seven collegiate matches, she has compiled a 7-0 doubles record with Brantmeier. So far, the pair is 3-0 playing at No. 1 doubles and 4-0 playing at No. 2 doubles.
Brantmeier, Hamilton and the Tar Heels are back in action this weekend at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Evanston, Illinois. North Carolina takes on Pepperdine on Friday, February 7th in the first round of action.
