EVANSTON, Ill. -- In its ITA National Team Indoor Championship consolation match, the No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels (7-3) fell to the No. 10 Auburn Tigers (10-1), 1-4 in Evanston.

North Carolina began the day with a strong showing in doubles play.

On court two, the fifth-ranked duo of Carson Tanguilig and Susanna Maltby gave the Tar Heels the doubles point advantage with a 6-3 victory. Next, on court one, Reese Brantmeier and Alanis clinched the doubles point for Carolina with a 7-5 win.

North Carolina dropped singles matches on courts three, four, five and six to give Auburn its four points and the win.
