Softball Falls In Series Finale To Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. – Carolina softball (23-6, 4-2 ACC) fell in the rubber match against Clemson on Sunday in six innings by a score of 10-2.
Clemson scored two in the first after a 30 minute lightning delay broke up the inning. Carlie Myrtle responded right away with a homer to left center field to make it a 2-1 ball game.
The Tigers used a big inning to gain control of the game in the bottom half of the second, plating five runs. Myrtle got one run back in the top of the third for her second RBI of the day and 31st of the season.
Clemson would add one in the fourth and two in the sixth to take the game and the series.
Carolina turns its attention to a big midweek game against Liberty that will air on the ACC Network at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night from Anderson Softball Stadium.
