Men’s Tennis Facing Another Challenging Schedule In 2026

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will play at least 12 matches this spring against teams that made the 2025 NCAA Tournament, as the squad announced its 2026 spring schedule on Monday afternoon.
The Tar Heels ultimately could play 13 matches against teams that made the 2025 NCAA field, including a possible matchup with defending national champion Wake Forest in the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Winston-Salem in addition to the teams' Atlantic Coast Conference regular season match in Chapel Hill on March 27.
The 2026 matches against opponents who made last year's NCAA field include home dates versus Columbia (Feb. 1), Princeton (Feb. 8), Stanford (Feb. 27), Cal (March 1), Clemson (March 20), Wake Forest (March 27) and NC State (March 29) and road visits to Wake Forest (potentially in the ITA Kickoff on Jan. 24), Illinois (Feb. 22), Virginia (March 15), Miami (April 3), Florida State (April 5) and Duke (April 11).
Other home matches on the 2026 slate include dates in the Chewning Tennis Center against Queens (Jan. 20), NC Central (Jan. 28), Campbell (Jan. 28), Furman (Feb. 5) and Georgia Tech (March 22).
The 2026 ACC Championship will take place April 14-19 at the Cary Tennis Park in nearby Cary, N.C.
The Tar Heels will kick off their season on Tuesday January 20 at 4 p.m. against Queens on the Cone-Kenfield Indoor Courts at the Chewning Tennis Center.
