Men's Tennis To Open ACC Championship Vs. Virginia Tech Wednesday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Carolina's men's tennis team will open play in the 2026 ACC Championship on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. against Virginia Tech, the conference announced on Sunday night.
No. 3-ranked Virginia (20-3) and No. 7 Wake Forest (27-3) were named the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season co-champions with matching 12-1 conference records. The Demon Deacons earned the No. 1 seed for the 2026 ACC Men's Tennis Championship following a head-to-head tiebreaker, defeating Virginia on March 22. The championship will begin Wednesday, April 15, at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
The top four seeds earn double byes into the quarterfinals on Friday, April 17. No. 1 seed Wake Forest and No. 2 seed Virginia are followed by No. 3 seed Notre Dame (20-6, 9-4 ACC) and No. 4 seed Stanford (16-7, 9-4 ACC), with Stanford holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over Notre Dame.
The men's championship starts at 10 a.m. on Wednesday with a pair of first-round matches between No. 16 Boston College (4-15, 0-13 ACC) and No. 9 Duke (11-12, 6-7 ACC) on Bank 1 and No. 13 Florida State (12-14, 3-10 ACC) and No. 12 Louisville (17-12, 5-8 ACC) on Bank 2.
The second wave of first-round matches will commence at 12:30 p.m., with No. 15 Georgia Tech (12-12, 3-10 ACC) taking on No. 10 California (14-12, 6-7 ACC) on Bank 1 and No. 14 Virginia Tech (6-15, 3-10 ACC) facing No. 11 North Carolina (13-10, 6-7 ACC) on Bank 2.
The second-round action will take place on Thursday, April 16, starting at 10 a.m. ET. In the first matches, No. 8 Miami (14-10, 6-7 ACC) will face the winner of the Boston College versus Duke match and No. 5 NC State (16-6, 8-5 ACC) will compete against the winner of the Florida State versus Louisville match. Then, at 12:30 p.m. ET, No. 7 SMU (19-10, 8-5 ACC) will battle the winner of the Georgia Tech versus California match, while No. 6 Clemson (16-11, 8-5 ACC) will take on the winner of the Virginia Tech versus North Carolina match.
The four quarterfinal matches will begin at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Friday, with the winners advancing to the semifinals on Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m. The semifinal featuring the highest remaining seed will air on ACC Network Extra. Sunday's championship match is set for 10 a.m. and will air live on ACC Network Extra.
One-day tickets are priced at $15 for adults (ages 18 and older) and $10 for children ages 17 and under and college students with a valid school ID. Admission is free for children 8 and under. A full championship pass for all six days is priced at $30.
