Men's Golf 3rd At ACCs After First Round

Ninth-ranked North Carolina shot 2 under par Thursday in the first round of the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship at Shark's Tooth Golf Course in Panama City Beach, Fla.
Freshman Carson Bertagnole led UNC with a 2-under 70. Niall Sheils Donegan shot 71, Grant Roscich opened with a par 72 and Keaton Vo was 1 over.
The Tar Heels were one of only four teams in the field to shoot below par today.
Stanford leads at 13-under 275. Wake Forest is 10 strokes back at 3 under par, the Tar Heels are third at 2 under and Georgia Tech is fourth at 1 under.
Carolina is the No. 2 seed in the tournament. Top seed Virginia is tied for eighth at 3 over. The Cardinal entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed.
SMU's William Sides is the individual leader with a 6-under-par 66. His SMU teammate Ben Steinmann and a pair of Stanford players – Dean Greyserman and Edan Cui – are tied for second with 68s.
Round two of three scheduled rounds of stroke play is Friday.
