April 3, 2026 | Men's Tennis
CORAL GABLES, FLA.—North Carolina's men's tennis team fell behind early but raced to overtake Miami and beat the Hurricanes, 4-3, on Friday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
After losing the doubles point and falling behind, 2-0, the Tar Heels roared back to dominate singles play and pick up the road victory. Carolina won four of the final five singles matches of the day.
After UNC had won three singles matches in a row to take a 3-2 lead, a weather delay paused the action for a bit before Rafael Segado topped Niels Ratiu in three sets on court four to tie the team score at 3-all.
Senior Constantinos Djakouris clinched it for Carolina with a three-set, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 win over Mehdi Sadaoui on court five.
With the victory, Carolina's first road win of the season, the Tar Heels improved to 12-9 overall and 5-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, breaking a tie in the conference standings with the Hurricanes, who fell to 12-10, 4-7.
