Women’s Tennis Sweeps Georgia Tech On Senior Day, 4-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 5 University of North Carolina women's tennis welcomed Georgia Tech to Chewning Tennis Center Sunday afternoon for senior day. The Tar Heels downed the Yellow Jackets, 4-0, to earn their ninth ACC win of the season and remain undefeated at home during the regular season.
No. 3 Reese Brantmeier and Alanis Hamilton raced to a 6-3 win on court one to get the day started in doubles. Maddy Zampardo and Susanna Maltby shared the court again where they clinched the doubles point for Carolina with a 6-4 victory. Duo Tatum Evans and Anna Frey turned in another win for the Tar Heels on court three, 6-3.
In singles, Theadora Rabman extended Carolina's lead with a win on court six. The junior dominated with a straight-set win not allowing her opponent to score more than one point in each set.
No. 2 Reese Brantmeier earned the next singles win for UNC with a ranked victory over no. 66 Alejandra Cruz on court one. The senior's win put the Tar Heels ahead 3-1.
Maddy Zampardo went on to clinch the match for Carolina. The junior won both sets by a score of 6-1 en route to securing a sweep for the Tar Heels.
