Women’s Tennis Advances To 16th Consecutive Super Regional In 4-0 Win Over South Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In a meeting of the Carolinas in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament, it was all Carolina Blue as the Tar Heels ran away with a 4-0 victory over South Carolina from the Chewning Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The Tar Heels keep dancing as they advance to next weekend's Super Regional round.
Clinching the doubles point quickly, Tatum Evans and Oby Kajuru earned a decisive 6-0 win on their court, followed by Susanna Maltby and Maddy Zampardo with a 6-1 victory to go up 1-0 heading into singles action.
For the second straight day, Anna Frey cruised to a two-set win on court five to pick up the first singles point for the Tar Heels. On court one, Reese Brantmeier followed Frey shortly after with another two-set match as North Carolina quickly went up 3-0 over South Carolina. Making quick work on court six, Thea Rabman cemented the North Carolina victory with another two-set win to clinch the match over the Gamecocks, 4-0.
The Tar Heels advance to the NCAA Super Regionals for the 16th consecutive season, where they will host Michigan at the Chewning Tennis Center in Chapel Hill on Friday May 8 at 5 p.m.
