2019-20 SEASON
Earned All-America honors in doubles as a team with Mac Kiger ... Finished the year ranked No. 4 nationally in doubles after reaching as high as No. 3 in early February ... Kiger and Soendergaard posted a doubles record of 20-4 overall on the season, including 9-2 in dual matches (mostly at No. 2) ... Went 10-4 in singles, including a 4-0 mark in dual matches ... Honored as a Tar Heel Scholar-Athlete for his academic performance in the 2019 spring and fall semesters … Earned a spot on the ACC Academic Roll for his work in the classroom
Fall 2019: Teamed with Kiger and won the 2019 ITA Fall Carolina Regional doubles championship, thus qualifying for Oracle ITA Fall National Championships .... The pair reached the semifinals of the national championships, upsetting top-seeded Jack Lin and Jackie Tang of Columbia along the way ... Soendergaard and Kiger won their first three matches at fall nationals before losing to No. 8 seed Robert Cash and John McNally of Ohio State, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (6) in the semis ... Soendergaard and Kiger ended the 2019 fall season ranked No. 7 in the nation in doubles
JUNIOR YEAR (2018-19)
Went 8-4 in singles, at No. 5 and No. 6 ... Posted a 5-1 singles record in ACC play ... Went 20-2 in doubles, playing with Mac Kiger for the second year in a row ... Took the fall semester away from campus, returning in January
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2017-18)
Played at the two (3-0), three (2-7) and four (3-3) spots in singles ... Overal record of 8-10 in singles and 16-7 in doubles in spring play ... Played all of his doubles matches with Mac Kiger, going 3-0 at No. 2 and 13-7 at No. 3 ... He and Kiger earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week honors on Jan. 30 after going 3-0 at the No. 3 spot ... In fall play, was runner-up in the A singles draw at the Duke James Bonk Invitational in Cary
FRESHMAN YEAR (2016-17)
Did not see action during the fall ... First collegiate match was on Jan. 28 against Vanderbilt during ITA Kickoff Weekend ... Won in two sets at the No. 3 spot ... Finished the spring 9-15 overall ... Went 5-6 in ACC play ... Was 3-8 at No. 3 and 6-5 at No. 4 ... Also played two matches at No. 2 (0-2) ... Went 10-7 in doubles matches and finished the season ranked No. 62 nationally with senior Jack Murray ... Was 2-7 against ranked players ... Earned the team's Newcomer Award from the strength & conditioning staff
JUNIOR/PREP: Ranked as high as No. 31 in the ITF Junior World Rankings ... Reached the singles quarterfinals of the ITF Futures in Turkey in 2015 ... Competed in the main draws of all four Grand Slams during his junior career ... Won the Mayors Cup (Grade A) in Osaka, Japan ... Claimed 30 Danish titles in singles, doubles, and team play

Why I chose Carolina: the great combination of athletics and academics.
The best part of being a Tar Heel tennis player is: being surrounded by good friends every day.
My favorite part of competing for Coach Paul is: how much he cares about you both on and off the court.
The aspect of my game I’ve worked on the most since last year is: mental toughness.
Favorite tennis memory: winning Osaka ITF grade A in doubles and competing in all four Junior Grand Slam tournaments.

My favorite sport, other than tennis, is: soccer, but my favorite sport to watch is UFC.
Outside of tennis, I like to spend time: with my friends.
