General: One of the best swimmers in the nation...an outstanding returning three-time letter winner who spearheads the Tar Heels in several events...team captain two years in a row...was one of the most heralded swimmers to enroll at Carolina in many years...a first-team in All-America in 2001 in the 200 IM, 100 breast, 200 breast and on two relays...a first-team NCAA All-America pick in 2000 in the 200 breastroke and the 400 individual medley…was also a first-team NCAA All-America selection in 1999 in the 400-yard individual medley...the team's top breaststroker and individual medleyist...also excels in the freestyle and is an outstanding relay swimmer...a solid student...has a 3.104 cumulative GPA...was a finalist at the 1996 U.S. Olympic Trials in both breaststroke events.
Summer 2001: Turned in an outstanding performance at the 2001 Southern Sectional USS Long Course Championships in July...won the 400 IM, the 200 IM and set new school records in winning the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:10.79 and the 200-meter breaststroke in 2:31.75...she was also second in the 100-meter free and fourth in the 50-meter free...also swam spectacularly at the Santa Clara Grand Prix meet where she finished second in the 400-meter IM, third in the 200-meter breaststroke, fifth in the 100-meter breaststroke and 11th in the 200-meter IM.
2000-2001: Chosen for the 2001 College Swimming Coaches Association of America All-Academic Team...voted the team’s most outstanding swimmer...turned in a magnificant performance at the 2001 NCAA Championships, earning first-team All-America honors for the third straight year...finished fifth in the 200-yard individual medley with a career best time of 1:59.67...placed seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a school record 1:01.30...also placed seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke with a school record time of 2:11.94...swam the third leg on the 800 freestyle relay which placed seventh in ACC record time...also swam the third leg of the 400 free relay which finished eighth in school record time...swam the breaststroke leg on the 200 medley relay which placed 10th and on the 400 medley relay which placed 11th and set the school record at 3:40.32...All-ACC selection...at the 2001 ACC Championships she placed third in the 200-yard individual medley, captured the ACC title in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.64) and was the runnerup in the 200-yard breaststroke...swam the breaststroke leg on the Tar Heels’ ACC champion 400-yard medley relay team...swam the breaststroke leg on UNC’s ACC champion 200-yard medley relay team which established a school record...swam the third leg on Carolina’s ACC champion 800 free relay...swam on a fourth ACC championship relay, swimming the second leg on the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay...had season’s top time in the ACC in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes...named ACC Swimmer of the Week November 20, 2000 and January 22, 2001...named to ACC Academic Honor Roll...made Dean’s List both semesters.
1999-2000: Was named the women’s team’s Most Valuable Swimmer…had both the team’s and conference’s top times in the 100 (1:02.12) and 200 (2:13.04) breaststrokes, as well as the team’s top time the 200 IM (2:00.63)…the 200 IM performance ranked as the second fastest ever for a Tar Heel…was the Nike Cup champion in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and the 200 and 400 IMs…broke the Nike Cup record in the 200 breaststroke (2:13.67)...also a member of Nike Cup champion 200 free relay, 400 medley relay, 800 free relay and 400 free relay…at the 2000 ACC Championships, she won the 100 and 200 breaststrokes and finished second in the 200 IM…a member of UNC’s ACC champion, school record-breaking and Koury Natatorium record-setting 200 free relay as well as the ACC champion, school and pool record breaking 400 medley relay...a member of the 800 free relay team that set a school record while finishing second at ACC’s…All-ACC pick…at the 2000 NCAA Championships, she finished fourth in the 200 breast, fifth in the 400 IM and 13th in the 200 IM…member of UNC’s 200 medley relay, 800 free relay and 400 medley relay which all placed 13th and the 200 free relay that finished 15th at the NCAA Championships…was also named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
