General: Carolina’s top diver returns for his senior year as a fifth-year student...was a red-shirt in 1997-98...one of only three seniors on the Tar Heel team, joining David Weeks and fellow diver Kevin Mangum...three-year letter winner for the Heels...described by Tar Heel head swimming coach Frank Comfort as "a swimmer who also happens to be a diver"...was one of the top prep divers in North Carolina in 1995...has only been diving for nine years...invovled with Athletes in Action program at Carolina...maintains an impressive 3.375 cumulative GPA at Carolina...has been a regular on the UNC Dean's List.

1998-99: Earned his third letter as a Tar Heel...at the 1999 ACC Championships, he finished sixth in one-meter diving and 10th in three-meter diving...named to 1999 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll...tapped for Dean's List in fall semester of 1998...also selected for Dean's List in spring semester of 1999.

1997-98: Red-shirted the entire season due to a back injury...Carolina missed his key points at ACC's but was able to win the championship anyway.

1996-97: Named to Dean’s List in spring semester of 1997...tallied 26 points for UNC at the ACC Championships...placed eighth on the one-meter board and fourth on the three-meter board at ACC meet...NCAA zone qualifier in three-meter diving.

1995-96: Was 12th in one-meter diving and 13th in three-meter diving at the ACC Championships...scored nine of UNC’s 801.5 points at the ACC Championships...named to 1995-96 ACC Academic Honor Roll.

Prep: Graduated from Millbrook High School in June of 1995...member of the National Honor Society there...was North Carolina’s state 4A diving champion in 1994...was the state runner-up in 1993...finished first on the platform, second on the three-meter board and third on the one-meter board at the 1994 Junior Olympic Zones...also competed for the Candler Diving Club while in high school.

Personal: Given name is Christian David Zuburg...nicknamed "Zeus"...has two brothers and one sister...his brother Pat played on the men's volleyball club team at the University of Maryland and his other brother Brent played club baseball at Carolina...is the son of Rick and Jeannie Zuburg...born August 14, 1976 in Topeka, Kansas...hobbies include playing golf with his dad, fishing with Grandpa Z, going to rodeos with Uncle Mike and shooting hoops with Avery as well as golf, fishing and playing video games...his favorite athletes are Roberto Clemente, Lance Armstrong and Payne Stewart...biggest sports thrill was making his junior high school basketball team because even he didn’t think he was good enough...also says beating his dad in golf is a big thrill because every time he does it it is just as much fun as it was the first time...business administration major...information systems minor...undecided on his career plans...may become a professional diver...is engaged to be married next summer.
