Career Best Times: 55.05 in 100 breast (tied for 4th in school history); 1:59.73 in 200 breast (10th in school history); 1:51.02 in 200 IM.
General: A three-time returning letter winner in UNC's talented breaststroke group...has earned a spot on UNC's scoring team at the ACC Championships each of his first three years...comes from a family of life-long Carolina fans.
Long Course Highlights: Competed at the 2009 U.S. Open in Federal Way, Wash. in the 100-meter breaststroke.
2009-10 (Junior): Had a very successful group of swims at the ACC Championships...finished eighth in the 200 breast at 2:00.40, 10th in the 100 breast at 55.07 and 22nd in the 200 IM...had career bests in `09-'10 in all three of his main events...named to 2009-10 ACC Academic Honor Roll...had an excellent dual meet season...swept the breaststroke events in wins over Maryland and Duke...also won the 100 breast versus ECU.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Swam personal best times at the ACC Championships in the 100 breast (55.41), the 200 breast (2:02.07) and the 200 IM (1:53.57)...named to the 2008-09 ACC Academic Honor Roll...a fall 2008 Dean's List selection...received the Richard E. Jamerson Memorial Award as the most improved swimmer for the second straight year.
2007-08 (Freshman): Set a career best time in the 100 breast with a time of 58.36 at the ACC Championships...had his career best in the 200 breast with a time of 2:08.21 in the dual meet against Virginia... received the team's Richard E. Jamerson Memorial Award as the most improved swimmer.
Prep: A 2007 graduate of Green Hope High School...was a member of the swimming team there for four years and the soccer team for two years...was the swim team's MVP three years and coaches award winner once...All-Tri-8 Conference selection...swim team captain as a junior and senior...member of Spanish National Honor Society.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is being part of a family and representing a phenomenal university that I grew up supporting.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is the jungle.
3. Since my last competitive season, the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is cleaning up technique.
4. My best friend on another college swimming team is Wes Foltz at Towson.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my competitiveness.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academics, I like to spend time sleeping.
2. On a long bus trip, I'd like to watch episodes of Chappelle's Show.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be something dry with a ball.
4. If I received free concert tickets via a radio or internet promotion I would love to see the Wu-Tang Clan.
5. The one interest I have that people would be surprised to know is I love movies.
Section #3: Food
1. After a big meet I'd love to see a buffet spread that included everything fried.
2. My favorite beverages are Cheerwine and Blue Gatorade.
3. I'm allowed to enter a room with unlimited snacks, one room has the salty stuff, the other sweet stuff? Which room do I enter and why? The Sweet Room because I love candy.
4. My favorite food made by a relative is anything baked by my Mom or sister.
5. On my birthday, I'd love to be treated by my friends to dinner at the Angus Barn.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I would go to the 1920s. It was a fun and unique time period.
2. My most prized personal possessions are my Jamerson most improved awards.
3. My iTunes library includes 3,300 songs, including a lot of rap.
4. In a perfect world where making money was not a consideration my dream job would be billionaire playboy.
5. The most interesting persons I've met in my time at UNC are a three-way tie between Evan Reed, Sean Lane and Patrick O'Donovan. Too many reasons why.
