Career Best Times: 54.25, 100 breast (school record); 1:57.96, 200 breast (3rd in school history); 1:51.49, 200 fly; 1:48.45, 200 IM (6th in school history); 4:01.75, 400 IM.
General: A returning letter winner who has been Carolina's top breaststroker the past three seasons...school record holder in 100 breast individually and as member of 200 medley relay team...that medley relay team also set the pool record at Koury Natatorium.
Long Course Highlights: Swam the 100- and 200-meter breaststrokes at the 2009 U.S. World Championship Trials...had career best times in both events there...earned a "C" final swim in the 200-meter breast where he finished 20th in 2:19.83...finished 28th in the 100-meter breast in 1:04.96...qualified for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200-meter breast.
2009-10 (Junior): All-ACC selection...swam the breaststroke leg on Carolina's ACC champion 200 medley relay team, the first time UNC won that event in 14 years...also swam the breast leg on the 400 medley relay which placed second...tied for fourth in the 100 breast (54.25), sixth in the 200 breast (1:58.42) and 17th in the 200 IM (1:49.04)...swept the breaststroke events in UNC's upset road win at Georgia.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Bettered his personal best times in the 100 breast (54.35), 200 breast (1:58.77) and 200 IM (1:48.63) at the ACC Championships where he placed ninth in the 100 breast, sixth in the 200 breast and 13th in the 200 IM...set the school record in the 100 breast and moved into third place on the all-time UNC depth chart in the 200 breast...named to the 2008-09 ACC Academic Honor Roll...made the spring semester 2009 Dean's List.
2007-08 (Freshman): Set career best times in 100 breast with a time of 56.10, in the 200 breast with a time of 1:58.74 and in the 200 IM with a time of 1:51.59, all achieved at the ACC Championships...his time in the 200 breast lifted him into second place in school history in the event...claimed second place at the ACC Championships in the 200 breast...was a consolation finalist in the 100 breast and won the bonus consolation final in the 200 IM at ACCs...earned All-ACC honors.
Prep: Graduated from Conant High School on June 16, 2007...competed in club swimming for 15 years in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM...swam on high school team as a sophomore and junior and competed on cross country team as freshman and sophomore...won state high school titles individually in the 200 free, 200 IM and the 500 free...a high school All-America in the 200 IM.
Personal: Full name is Walter Vincent Pryor, III...son of Walt and Carol Pryor...was born March 9, 1988 in Orlando, Fla. ...has one brother, Michael, 19, and one sister, Katy 24...communication studies major.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is being able to truly say that I represent one of the most well-known and respected schools in the country.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is the jungle.
3. Since my last competitive season, the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my underwaters.
4. My best friend on another college swimming team is Erica Meissner of Auburn University.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my open turns.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academics, I like to spend time watching movies and playing Rock Band with Sean Lane.
2. On a long bus trip, I'd like to watch Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be volleyball.
4. If I received free concert tickets via a radio or Internet promotion I would love to see Big Punisher and the Notorious B.I.G. come back from the dead and do a collaboration concert...with out Fat Joe and P Diddy.
5. The one hobby I have that people would be surprised to know is folding laundry.
Section #3: Food 1. After a big meet I'd love to see a buffet spread that included bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits from Suttons, Crunch Wrap Supremes from Taco Bell, Muscle Milk, and raw zucchini.
2. My favorite beverage is milk.
3. I'm allowed to enter a room with unlimited snacks, one room has the salty stuff, the other sweet stuff? Which room do I enter and why? The one with sweet stuff...I need to balance out my personal saltiness.
4. My favorite food made by a relative is buttermilk pie, by Mama Dukes.
5. On my birthday, I'd love to be treated by my friends to dinner at Milltown.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I would go to White Lake, New York for the duration of August 15-18, 1969.
2. My most prized personal possessions are my Sublime wallet and my Rasheed Wallace Celtics jersey.
3. My iTunes library includes 4,909 songs of rap; rock; alternative; pretty much everything besides any kind of metal or country.
4. In a perfect world where making money was not a consideration my dream job would be male modeling.
5. The most interesting person I've met in my time at UNC is Sean Lane because there is never a dull moment with him...and because no one else is cool enough to have the nickname "DJ Gooey."
