Career Best Times: 57.07, 100 breast; 2:03.48, 200 breast.
General: A three-time returning letter winner for the Tar Heels who competes in a talented breaststroke corps...had a splendid junior year in which he shattered his previous career bests.
Long Course Highlights: Swam long course personal best times in the 100 and 200-meter breaststrokes at the 2009 Speedo Sectional Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.
2009-10 (Junior): Recorded a pair of career best times at the Triangle College Cup...captured second place in the 100 breast in 57.07 and won the title in the 200 breast with a 2:03.48 clocking.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Swam personal best times in the 100 breast (57.18) and in the 200 breast (2:05.27) at the Carolina Last Chance Meet...named to the 2008-09 ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2007-08 (Freshman): Had season best times as a freshman in the 100 breast at 59.99 in the dual meet against Georgia and 2:12.12 in the 200 breast, also against the Bulldogs...his top time in the 200 IM came in the Nike Cup.
Prep: Graduated from South Mecklenburg High School on June 11, 2007...four-year letterman on the SMHS team...swam for the Mecklenburg Aquatic Club beginning in 2000 in the 100 and 200 breast events...led the South Meck swimming team to state runner-up finishes in 2006 and 2007...member of the 2007 state champion 200 medley relay squad...2007 state champion in the 100 breast...scholastic All-America in 2005, 2006 and 2007...member of National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society...four-year honor roll member...2006 second-team All-County selection in the 100 breast...first-team All-Charlotte Observer and All-Mecklenburg County selection in the 100 breast in 2007...swam on an All-America and school-record setting 200 medley relay team in 2006...2006 MAC coaches award winner.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is being a part of one of the closest teams in the country as we strive to achieve new heights as a swimming and diving program.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is the consistent commitment to excellence in and out of the pool.
3. Since my last competitive season, the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my overall physical strength and conditioning.
4. My best friend on another college swimming team is Greg Baskwell at NC State.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my competitive nature and focus in and out of the pool.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academics, I like to spend time playing basketball and watching sports on TV.
2. On a long bus trip, I'd like to watch any action movie.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.
4. If I received free concert tickets via a radio or Internet promotion I would love to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
5. The one interest I have that people would be surprised to know is I like to watch the Food Network.
Section #3: Food
1. After a big meet I'd love to see a buffet spread that included steak, ribs, twice-baked potatoes and fettuccini Alfredo.
2. My favorite beverage is chocolate milk.
3. I'm allowed to enter a room with unlimited snacks, one room has the salty stuff, the other sweet stuff? Which room do I enter and why? Salty; I love snacking on pretzels and Sun Chips.
4. My favorite food made by a relative is anything my Mom cooks.
5. On my birthday, I'd love to be treated by my friends to dinner at Outback Steakhouse.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I would go back to the time of the dinosaurs so I could see what all of the different species looked like.
2. My most prized personal possession is my IPod.
3. My iTunes library includes about 2000 songs, mostly rock and hip-hop.
4. In a perfect world where making money was not a consideration my dream job would be professional golfer.
5. The most interesting person I've met in my time at UNC is Roy Williams.
