General: Three-time returning ACC champion in the 100 back and two-time defending champion in the 100 fly...ACC record holder in both events...also established the ACC meet and the Koury Natatorium pool records in both events...set the school record in the 200 backstroke his sophomore year...also holds long course University records in the 100 fly and 100 back...member of school record setting 200 medley (also pool record), 400 medley and 400 free relays...looking to continue his already illustrious career by attaining further accolades in 2010-11.
Long Course Highlights: At the 2010 U.S. Nationals he was 13th in the 100 fly in 53.88 and 13th in the 100 back in a school record time of 55.21...swam at the 2009 World Championship Trials where he competed in the 100-meter fly and 100 and 200-meter back events...finished 13th in the 100-meter back with a time of 55.44, setting a UNC long course record in the process...placed 15th in the 100-meter fly with a time of 53.56, another school long course record...qualified for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in both the 100-meter backstroke and the 100-meter butterfly.
2009-10 (Junior): Achieved first-team All-America status in the 100 fly...placed fifth at the event at NCAAs in 46.05...was an honorable mention All-America in the 100 back, placing 13th in 46.99...also made honorable mention All-America accolades on two relays...swam the second leg of the 400 free relay which placed 11th and led off the 400 medley relay which finished 14th...his time of 45.93 leading off the 400 medley relay in the NCAA prelims was a new ACC record...All-ACC selection for third straight year...won the ACC title for the second year in a row in the 100 fly in an ACC record 45.57 seconds...captured his third straight ACC crown in the 100 back in 46.08...captured second place in the 200 back in 1:42.65...swam the fly leg on the 200 medley relay which won the ACC championship in the event in a school record time...swam on three other relays at ACCs which took runner-up finishes...swam the second leg on the 200 free relay, fly leg on the 400 medley relay and second leg on the 400 free relay...won the Jamerson Memorial Awards as the team's most valuable and most outstanding swimmers.
2008-09 (Sophomore): Won the ACC championships in the 100 back and 100 fly in the same session at the conference meet, setting ACC records in both events with times of 46.41 and 46.21, respectively... also placed third in the 200 back, breaking the school record with a time of 1:42.40...also had a career best in the 50 free with a time of 20.26 at a last chance meet, moving him into seventh place all-time at UNC...qualified for the 2009 NCAA Championships in the 100 and 200 backstrokes and the 100 butterfly...led off two medley relay teams at the ACC Championships that set school record times...an All-ACC selection for the second straight year...won the Richard Jamerson Memorial Award as the team's most outstanding swimmer.
2007-08 (Freshman): ACC champion in the 100 back with a time of 48.27...was the first Tar Heel to win that event at ACCs since Ted Brisson in 1998...set career best times in the 50 free with a time of 20.63 and in the 100 free with a time of 45.37, both swum at the ACC Championships...his season best in the 100 back was 48.12, a time achieved at a post-ACC meet time trial...his time in the 100 back moved him into second place in school history at the time...had a season best 48.18 in the 100 fly in the prelims at ACCs...that time was short of his career high but it moved him into sixth place in UNC history in the event...in the championship final of the 100 fly he finished eighth with a time of 48.56...swam the butterfly leg on the 200 medley relay that finished fourth at ACCs with a time of 1:27.97, a new school record...earned All-ACC honors.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is the team trips.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is watching him jump up and down during races.
3. Since my last competitive season, the aspects of my training I've worked on the most are my turns and underwaters.
4. My best friends on another college swimming team are Sullivan Lynch from Georgia Tech and Chelsea Nauta from Georgia.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my strength in and out of the pool.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academics, I like to spend time sitting in a hammock and hanging out with people from Florida.
2. On a long bus trip, I'd like to watch American History X.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be something without morning practice or basketball.
4. If I received free concert tickets via a radio/internet promotion I would love to see Slipknot.
5. The one interest I have that people would be surprised to know is I love going to get sushi.

1. After a big meet I'd love to see a buffet spread that included ice pops and Taco Bell food.
2. My favorite beverages are cranberry juice and fruit punch.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I would go to the first Woodstock to hang out with Jimi Hendrix.
