General: A three-time returning letter winner in the distance freestyle events...has shown consistent improvement throughout his Tar Heel career...UNC student-athlete Outreach leader.
Long Course Highlights: Competed at the 2009 U.S World Championships Trials in the 1500-meter freestyle...Olympic Trials qualifier.
2010-11 (Junior): Captured the 500-yard freestyle at the College Cup Invitational for the second successive year, winning in 4:31.51.
2009-10 (Sophomore): Had some key wins during the dual meet season...won the 500 free versus Georgia Tech and the 1000 free versus NC State...took a pair of first-place finishes in the Triangle College Cup...won the 500 free in 4:28.41 and the 1650 free in 15:27.89.
2008-09 (Freshman): Competed at the ACC Championships as an exhibition swimmer...had career best times in the 500 free (4:27.55) and 200 free (1:42.58) at the ACC meet.
Prep: Graduated from Garden City High School in June 2008...was a four-year letterman there...served as the captain of his team his senior year...twice was named Long Island's Most Valuable Swimmer...a senior national qualifier in the 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyles...six-time high school All-America selection...won Matthew Lynch Leadership Award...winner of 10 Nassau County titles, the most in county history.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is training and competing with not a team but my family.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is racing.
3. Since last year the aspects of my training I've worked on the most are my speed and strength.
4. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my toughness.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time chilling, watching sports, watching movies, and trying to have fun.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Into The Wild.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is a crazy concert with Lil Wayne, Jay Z, Eminem and Drake.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is that I love sneakers.
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a big meet, I'd like to eat at a buffet spread that included steak, lasagna, crab cakes, and orange soda.
2. My favorite beverage is grape juice.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is my Mom's baked ziti.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Chipotle.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is Chinese food.

1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to 1986 and invest all my money in Microsoft or Jump Rope and hang out with Muhammad Ali.
