General: A three-year letter winner who excels in the butterfly events and the distance freestyle events...also swims IM events.
Long Course Highlights: Qualified for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200-meter butterfly.
2010-11 (Junior): Earned her third varsity letter...had an excellent dual meet season and earned her season best times at the College Cup Invitational and against Duke...had the top time on the team in the 200 fly in 2010-11 with a 1:58.56 she clocked in the win over Duke...her top time in the 100 fly was a 55.42 at the College Cup Invitational.
2009-10 (Sophomore): Qualified for the championship final of the 200-yard butterfly at the ACC Championships, finishing sixth...earned membership on the fall 2009 Dean's List...2009-10 ACC Academic Honor Roll selection.
2008-09 (Freshman): Placed fourth at ACC Championships in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:57.88...that time placed her second in school history on the all-time Top 10 list...she missed the school record by only 0.22 of a second in the event...her time was an NCAA "B" qualifying time...swam in the bonus consolation heat of the 100-yard butterfly at the ACC Championships and finished with a career best time of 55.33 seconds.
Prep: Graduated from Conroe High School in May 2008...swam three years for her high school's varsity team where she specialized in the 100 fly and 200 IM...member of the water polo team her senior year...swam four years for the Woodlands Swim Team where she specialized in the 200 fly and 400 IM...captain of her high school team...two-time state finalist in the 100 fly, finishing fifth and seventh in those championship meets...named team MVP in 2006 and 2007...qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials in the 200 fly...spring nationals qualifier in the 100 fly and 400 IM...named to the Zones Team and All-Star Team in 2004...National Honor Society inductee ...member of Mu Alpha Theta...graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Personal: Full name is Eriel Enuf Swanson...goes by Nuffy...daughter of John and Linda Swanson...was born June 28, 1990, in Melbourne, Fla. ...has four sisters...majoring in journalism and mass communication...Dean's List student...volunteer at Emerge A Children's Place...is the fifth of five daughters and was given name Enuf, as in "enough girls"...her mother was a ballet dancer for 18 years...her father was a competitive diver who placed third in U.S. Olympic Trials, missing a spot on the U.S. Team by just one place...he went on to a career in the Air Force.

Section #1: Swimming & Diving
1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel swimmer is being part of such an awesome team.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach DeSelm is representing Carolina with that baby blue cap!
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my underwaters.
4. My best friend on another college swimming team is Liz Nelson at Texas A&M.
5. My greatest strength as a swimmer is my enthusiasm.
Section #2: Hobbies & Interests
1. Away from the pool and academic pursuits I like to spend time watching movies, shopping, and sleeping.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Friends with Benefits.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be gymnastics.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Sam Cooke.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is scrapbooking.
Section #3: Food & Beverage
1. After a big meet, I'd like to eat at a buffet spread that included chicken fried chicken, homemade rolls, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole.
2. My favorite beverage is Coke or a Cherry Smash from Sutton's - close call.
3. My favorite food made by a relative is my Brother-in-law's Mom's banana pudding.
4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Artichoke and Basil.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Section #4: Personality
1. If I possessed the gift of time travel I'd like to go to 100 years or so in the future, just to see how everything has changed.
2. My most prized personal possession is: does my dog count?
3. If I could go to dinner with a famous person it would be Will Ferrell.
4. My dream job is being a world traveler.
5. The most interesting person I've met at UNC is my roommate from freshman year... kept me on my toes!
