Thank you’ll for being here. We did a lot of good things, but we just missed a lot of shots. We had a lot of really, really good shots, and we missed them. It’s a win against a good team, well coached, 24’s an excellent player. They battled us really hard. Hillary (Summers) had a great game. N’Dea (Bryant) had a good game, we had several. The freshmen keep learning, they’re making a lot of mistakes, but they’re learning and getting better and better. Destinee (Walker) and Stephanie (Watts), Jamie’s (Cherry) got a broken nose, but we’re going to get her a mask and she’s got to play. We’ll put a mask on her and keep playing. We’re glad to win, and we’re looking forward to playing tomorrow.
On Cherry’s broken nose and how they’re going to respond on the court
Destinee is a really good point guard. In fact, lots of time, we haven’t done it that much this year, but we’re going to move Jamie (Cherry) to the wing and let Destinee (Walker) play point up there because she’s really smart, does a good job even though she’s a freshman. She’s been working out in practice some at point guard. We’ll put a mask on Jamie, she’ll play. And Stephanie (Watts) can play some point guard, too. They both played in high school. We got a couple of other ball handlers we can put up there, but we don’t have that many bodies, so we need Jamie back out there.
On whether the defensive zone was strategic
We put four players up there lots of times that were in our half-court trap. We were just putting some different looks out there, trying to know where 24 was all the time. Plus, we started getting foul troubles, so that was one reason why we did that, too.

Well we have really good offenses, so it’s kind of easy. I just get into the right spot, and our guards are really talented, so they’re able to get it to me.

I’m really happy. Like I said, it’s not that hard with how good our offenses are, but I’m glad I was able to do that.

Just finding rhythm, and they played a lot of zones so that’s my shot really right there. I was able to cut through the middle and get open shots. I feel like I’m finding the rhythm now and getting used to playing a little bit more tired.
