Health and Safety
In consultation with the CDC, the North Carolina State Department of Health, and the Atlantic Coast Conference, Carolina Athletics will implement the following safety guidelines for fans attending football games this season:
    Wear a Mask
- In accordance with state mandates, guests must wear a face mask snugly over their nose and mouth at all times, except when actively eating or drinking.
    6 Feet Apart
- Physical distancing is mandatory, including in elevators, bathrooms, entrances and exits, and lines. Restrooms and elevators will operate in a reduced capacity to promote physical distancing.
- Other measures we have implemented to encourage physical distancing include the relocation of equipment and the addition of barriers between staff and guests. Signage and ground stickers also have been installed.
- Seat locations for both students and the general public have been assigned to support physical distancing. When watching the game in the seating bowl, all fans must stay in their designated seat as printed on their ticket.Â
Wash Your Hands
- Ninety-five hand disinfection stations are located throughout the stadium, and everyone is encouraged to wash their hands frequently.
    Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Kenan Stadium in its entirety will be disinfected before and after each game. High touch point areas will be sanitized frequently during each game by event staff.
    Protect your Community
- All fans are asked to do their part and follow all rules and guidelines while attending events in Kenan Stadium. Fans who are not feeling well or have been in close contact with someone who may be sick must stay at home.Â
Tailgating
Tailgating in and around the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill campus is currently prohibited.Â
If you are interested in at-home tailgate service, please call (919) 869-5486 | Email: unc@tailgateguys.com or visit TailgateGuys.com.
Bell Tower Walk/Tar Heel Town
Carolina Athletics’ pregame activities including Tar Heel Town, the Bell Tower Walk and band and cheer performances around campus are cancelled.
These cancellations support a commitment to social distancing and eliminate congestion in areas around Kenan Stadium.
The Marching Tar Heels
The Marching Tar Heels Drum Line will perform from the stands during the game. The full band will not be in attendance as per University policy.
Digital Ticketing and Parking
Digital ticketing and digital parking have been implemented for most areas in and around Kenan Stadium to limit physical contact. All purchasers will receive their tickets via email, allowing them to download their tickets into Apple Wallet (iPhone) or Google Pay Wallet (Android), or print their print-at-home tickets prior to arrival.
Guests can manage their tickets directly from their mobile phones in a more efficient manner with My Account 2.0 through goheels.com/tickets.

Parking and Transportation
Rams Head Deck, Stadium Drive, and Bell Tower Deck are reserved for staff and ticket holders with permits.
Free public parking will be available in Craige Deck, Bowles Lot, Boshamer Lot, Navy Field Lot, Ehringhaus Lot and the Raleigh Road Visitors Lot. ADA parking is available in the Bell Tower Deck.
Tar Heel Express shuttles will not be in operation. If you are planning on using public transportation, please check the Chapel Hill Transit schedule on game day. Â
Stadium Entry/Clear Bag Policy
Gates 2, 3, 5, and the Blue Zone North Entrance will be open and available for fans to enter Kenan Stadium.  Fans are encouraged to enter at the gate printed on their mobile ticket. Using the suggested entrance and egress gate nearest your seat helps reduce clustering.  Additionally, for your safety and ours, we have expanded the use of touchless ticket pedestal scanners.Â
The Clear Bag Policy is still in effect to enhance security measures and expedite venue entry. Click here for more information on this policy. During the bag check process, staff will be wearing gloves and will use wooden sticks, if needed, for searching. Staff will ask fans to hold up and open their clear bags to help minimize contact.
Seat Locations
   Fan Seating
- Fan seating in the main bowl is separated into pods designed so families and friends can sit together safely. Each pod is separated by 6 feet both horizontally and vertically, meaning fans will be multiple seats and rows apart from others. Fans will receive a ticket for these assigned seats, which have been physically distanced from other groups. Failure to sit in your assigned seat, wear a mask and physically distance will result in ejection from Kenan Stadium.
   Student Seating
- Students who win a ticket via the student lottery will receive a general admission digital ticket in order to access Kenan stadium at Gate 5. After entering the stadium, students will be directed to pick up a ticket with a reserved seating location enabling them to sit with individuals in pods of 4, 3, 2 or 1, where they must stay for the duration of the game. Students should plan to arrive at Gate 5 with the group of people they self-select to sit with. Seats will have seat numbers on them as well as a sign reminding students to sit in or stand at their assigned seat, wear a mask and physically distance. Failure to comply with any of these policies may result in ejection from the game and the loss of the privilege to earn tickets via the student lottery.

Stadium Concourse
The design of crowd flow has been changed (including ingress, circulation, and egress) to facilitate mandatory physically distancing upon entering and exiting the venue. Please follow signage and directions.

Restrooms will operate with limited capacity. Bathroom attendants will be deployed to each restroom to facilitate limited capacity and ensure increased disinfection. Touchless hand soap and paper towel dispensers have been installed.
Concessions and Merchandise
A limited number of concessions and merchandise stands will be open. Transactions will be touchless, and cash will not be accepted, so please be prepared with another payment method if you plan on purchasing items at the game.
All concessions and merchandise staff will be equipped with masks and gloves. Frontline concessions’ employees will also be wearing face shields. Most concessions items will be pre-packaged and sealed
Carolina-branded face coverings and hand sanitizing spray will be on sale at Tar Heel Team Store locations inside the stadium.
Alcohol Sales
Alcohol will continue to be sold in Kenan Stadium during the 2020 season. Fans are limited to one alcoholic beverage per transaction. Concession stands will begin selling beer and wine 90 minutes before kickoff and stop at the end of the third quarter.
Event Staff
All event staff will be required to complete an online wellness test before leaving their homes and a temperature screening upon arrival to the stadium. Staff will also be required to wear masks at all times.
Event staff members will be located at each entry gate to assist fans by providing directions and answering fans’ questions. Additional staff will be deployed near concessions stands and restrooms to ensure that distancing and mask guidelines are being followed.
All event staff will be required to attend a training session focusing on safety protocols, pedestrian traffic flow, and social distancing etiquette.
