Thank you for joining us at Karen Shelton Stadium. We are happy to share the below information with each of you in order to ensure your GameDay experience with Carolina is exceptional.
ADA Accommodations & Information
Please find below a list of disability services currently provided at Karen Shelton Stadium.Entry Screening/Policies:
Karen Shelton Stadium is a non-ticketed venue with access via Ridge Rd and the Ehringhaus parking lot behind Boshamer Stadium. Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis with ADA locations behind Section 101 and 105. A companion seat chair can be made available upon request. Clear bags are not required for entry; however a list of prohibited items can be found below.
Accessible Seating
ADA seating is located at Section 101 and Section 105 on a first-come, first-serve basis. A companion bench seat is available upon request.
Accessible Entrances
Access can be gained to the stadium via Ridge Road following the brick pathway north of the team building toward Avery Dorm. An ADA-accessible ramp allows for access to the stadium seating area.
Elevators
There are no elevators in the spectator viewing area of Karen Shelton Stadium. All access is provided via the “concourse level”. Access to the team building for those within the Scroggs family, Williams family or athletic department administration does not require elevator access and can be gained through the Champions Club door located on the North Side of the team building.
Seating for those with Disabilities
ADA seating is located at Section 101 and Section 105 on a first come first serve basis. A companion bench seat is available upon request. For those wishing to have a quieter game day experience, it is recommended to sit in sections 105 or 205 due to the band being seated in Section 101.
Wheelchairs and Assistive Devices
Karen Shelton Stadium is not outfitted with any additional assistive devices or wheelchairs.
Assistive Listening Devices
Unfortunately, assistive listening devices are not available at Karen Shelton Stadium at this time.
Accessible Concessions Window
There is not a specific ADA accessible concessions window at Shelton Stadium.
Accessible Restrooms for Guests with Disabilities
A family and handicapped accessible restroom is located between sections 101 and 102 in the first portal within the fan seating area.
Gender Neutral Accessible Family Restroom
A family and handicapped accessible restroom is located between sections 101 and 102 in the first portal within the fan seating area.
Lactation Room
A lactation space is available, please see a member of the GameDay team for assistance.
ADA Service Animals
Service animals are allowed within the venue at the discretion of GameDay staff members. All service animals must be both required and trained to perform a specific function relating to a diagnosed disability. All service animals must walk on their own and cannot be carried around the venue.
ADA Parking
Handicapped accessible parking can be found on the first floor of Rams Head parking deck, located directly across the street from Karen Shelton Stadium at 104 Ridge Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. A small number of ADA parking spaces can also be found in Ehringhaus lot with easy access to the section 105 seating area.
Emergency or Severe Weather Evacuation Procedures
The severe weather policy for Shelton Stadium is as follows:DTN Weather, a weather tracking application, will notify the head athletic trainer and gameday manager when a storm containing lightning is approaching the vicinity. Warning’s will be given at 15 and 10 miles and the stadium will be cleared/game suspended at 8 miles. Teams will be able to return to the field and spectators to the stands when lightening has cleared the 8 mile radius within 30 minutes.
Teams will be asked to return to the locker rooms until the storm has cleared. Fans will be evacuated from the stadium and required to seek shelter. It is recommended that fans return to the Ram’s Head Parking deck or their vehicles. Updates will be provided via Twitter on the @GoHeelsGameDay and @UNCFieldHockey accounts.
Fan Conduct Policy
The University of North Carolina is shaped not only by our players, coaches and employees but by our fans as well. Our goal is to create a high-energy environment to support our team while maintaining a wholesome family-oriented atmosphere. To ensure all fans have a positive game day experience, each patron should act responsibly and be considerate of others. Event management staff and stadium security will respond to complaints of misconduct. Please know spectators are prohibited from accessing the field of play without proper consent.ACC policies support good sportsmanship at all times.

Food and Beverages
Outside food and beverages are allowed inside the stadium. In addition, concessions such as Hunt Brothers Pizza, Bojangles chicken & fries, hot dogs and hamburgers are available. Alcoholic beverages are currently available for events at Karen Shelton Stadium.
Gate Entry
Gates open to the public one hour prior to game start time. The main gate is located on Ridge Road across from Rams Head parking deck. Seating is general admission and first-come, first-serve, so early arrival is encouraged.Lost and Found
During a field hockey match please check with event management staff at the front gate. After an event, all unclaimed items are turned over to the UNC athletic event management department. Please contact athleticslostandfound.svc@email.unc.edu.Marketing & Promotions

Parking
Parking on field hockey GameDays are available within the following locations for guests:
- Rams Head parking deck ($.1.75/hour)
- Ehringaus lot (after 5 PM and on weekends)
- Stadium Drive (after 5 PM and on weekends)
All lots are subject to the University of North Carolina’s weeknight parking program each Monday at 7 a.m. through Friday at 5 p.m. Parking can be purchased at the following link: https://move.unc.edu/parking/visitor-parking/weeknight-payment/.

Prohibited Items
In addition to the below, all items are subject to the judgment of game management staff and may be removed from Karen Shelton Stadium based upon safety to surrounding guests, as well as the ability of others to enjoy the event. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Artificial noise makers
- Balloons
- Explosives
- Fireworks
- Folding chairs
- Illegal drugs
- Laser pointers
- Pets (except service animals)
- Umbrellas
- Weapons of any kind
