The University of North Carolina is committed to maintaining an atmosphere of compliance as it relates to student-athlete/agent interactions. The UNC Athletic Compliance Office is also dedicated to fostering a collaborative relationship between our institution, student-athletes, families and agents to ensure Carolina student-athletes maintain their amateur status, while still providing them with information they will need to pursue their professional sports careers.
Any individual who serves as an agent must notify the Athletic Compliance Office prior to contacting a student-athlete with remaining eligibility. Contact includes any communication via text, social media, phone, mail, etc., as well as face-to-face interactions.
Additionally, it is the expectation that all agents/advisors will:

- Familiarize themselves with NCAA rules regarding amateurism and agents,
- Abide by NCAA, ACC, and University of North Carolina rules and procedures regarding agents,
- Abide by all state of North Carolina laws and regulations pertaining to agents,
- Maintain agent certifications for relevant sport organizations (e.g. NFLPA, MLBPA, etc.) and
- Act in the best interest of the student-athletes at all times.
