A member of the UNC staff since 1998, Dana Gelin serves as Associate Director of Athletic Communications. In that role, she oversees media relations for the field hockey, fencing, men's tennis and rowing teams and also designs publications for the department.
She also works as part of Student-Athlete Development, as Coordinator of Student-Athlete Career Development. In that role she assists current and former UNC student-athletes as they plan their career paths and pursue jobs and internships. She serves as the point of contact for employers and graduate programs seeking to recruit UNC student-athletes.
A 1990 graduate of Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in communication, Gelin worked as a sports writer for the Nashville Banner and as a writer-reporter for Sports Illustrated before joining the UNC staff.
