Erin Hegarty is a graduate student intern in the Student-Athlete Development office for the 2016-17 school year. She is in her second year in UNC's Sport Administration master's degree program.
Hegarty from Richland, Wash., and graduated from Baylor University in May 2015 with a BS in Health Science Studies (Pre-Medicine). While at Baylor, she ran varsity cross country and track and was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Continuing her running in Chapel Hill, Hegarty finished third among female competitors at the 2016 Tar Heel Ten Miler in a time of 1:03:07.
During the summer of 2016, she made mission trips to Uganda and Cambodia. A Carolina fan since childhood, Hegarty is excited to spend the remainder of her "Jordan year" working with the great staff and student-athletes at UNC.
