Michelle Nixon joined the UNC Academic Support Program staff in July of 2003 and serves as a learning specialist, working primarily with the football team.

A native of central Illinois, Nixon earned her undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Illinois in 1988 and worked as a paralegal before returning to the university for her master's in special education. She graduated in 2001 and worked for two years at Chapel Hill High School as a special education teacher before coming to Carolina.
