Tony Yount joined the Academic Support Program staff in the summer of 2007 as an academic counselor.

He graduated from UNC in 1972 with a degree in education and earned a master's in teaching from UNC in 1989. He taught history and journalism in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro public school system for 29 years and also coached basketball. After retiring to Montana in 2001 to be a ski bum, Yount returned to Chapel Hill in 2004 and has been a history tutor since then.
