Following a successful softball career at North Carolina, Katelyn Shifflett was hired as the Director of Softball Operations after graduating in 2018. Shifflett was a four-year letterwinner for the Tar Heels from 2015-18 and team captain in 2018. Throughout her career, Shifflett played in 150 games with 95 starts in the middle infield. The Huntersville, North Carolina native recorded 63 hits, 17 doubles and 11 home runs in Carolina Blue. The team's community outreach representative and member of the Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy, Shifflett earned her bachelor's degree in exercise and sport science on the sport administration track.
