Competed in eleven meets, winning the 100 freestyle four times and the 200 freestyle three times • Posted 15 podium finishes in the 100 free (7), 200 free (7), and 50 free (1) • Opened the season with two wins in the 100 free and 200 free against Auburn • Claimed gold in the 100 free and 200 free against South Carolina • Swam a season-best time in the 200 free for second place, and a personal-best time in the 100 free for third place against Virginia • Podiumed in the 100 free (1st), 200 free (2nd) and 50 free (3rd) at the Gamecock Invitational• Finished third in the 200 free at the Toyota US Open Championships • Took first in the 100 free and 200 free against Duke • Landed on the podium in the 200 free (2nd) and 100 free (3rd) at N.C. Competed in 11 meets • Landed nine podium finishes • Set the program record in the 800 Freestyle Relay during the NCAA Championships • Moved into the UNC record book in three events: 100 and 200 freestyle and the 200 Individual Medley • Posted a PR in the 100 Free during the Georgia Last Chance Meet • Dropped her time in the 200 Free during the NCAA Championships • Had a great showing in the ACC Championships as she improved her 200 IM time.

As a Sophomore (2022-23)
Competed in the 100 and 200 freestyle as well as the 200 IM at the ACC Championship meet • Participated in six dual meets • Posted career-best times in the 100 freestyle (UNC Last Chance Meet), 200 freestyle (vs. Duke) and 200 IM (Tennessee Invitational).

As a Freshman (2021-22)
Member of the Tar Heels' ACC Championship meet roster • Competed in six dual meets • Top finish of the yer was fifth-place in the 200 IM in the dual meet against NC State with a personal-best time of 2:07.17.

Daughter of Annette and Jeremy Nel • Birthday is July 23 • Her twin sister, Olivia, is also a member of the UNC swimming and diving team • Mother was a swimmer at the University of Texas (1984-88) as well as part of the South Africa National Team • Speaks three languages: Afrikaans, English and French • Received multiple academic and extracurricular awards from the Herschel Girls School.
