2019-20: Qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the shot put before the meet was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic • Received USTFCCCA All-America honors following the cancelation of winter championships • Defended his ACC Indoor Championship title in the shot put, throwing 65-2 (19.86m) for first place and first team All-ACC honors • Also finished 10th in the weight throw with a mark of 57-6.25 (17.53m) • Earned ACC Men’s Field Co-Performer of the Week honors after breaking his own school record in the shot put with a throw of 66-9.25 (20.35m) at the Virginia Tech Invitational • Opened the indoor season at the Dick Taylor Carolina Challenge, winning the shot put and finishing third in the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 62-1.75 (18.94m) • Also finished second in the shot put at the Power 5 Invitational and 19th at the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships • Outdoor season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic • Represented men’s track & field on the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
2018-19: Earned first-team All-America honors after finishing fourth in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships • Threw a school record mark of 66-8.5 (20.33m) at NCAA Indoors to secure the best NCAA finish by a Tar Heel in the men’s indoor shot put • Won an ACC title and earned first-team All-ACC accolades in the men’s shot put with a mark of 64-3.75 (19.60m) at the ACC Indoor Championships • Set the Carolina track & field indoor shot put record twice, first throwing 64-10.5 (19.77m) at the Gamecock Inaugural to break four-time Olympian Vikas Gowda’s 14-year-old school record • Named ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week for his record-breaking performance at the Gamecock Inaugural • In outdoors, qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round where he finished 24th in the shot put [58-6.75 (17.85m)] and 39th in the discus [164-2 (50.03m)] • Earned second-team All-ACC in both the shot put and the discus, finishing fourth [59-10.5 (18.25m)] and fifth [168-6 (51.35m)] respectively • Won the shot put at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational and the Battle of the Blues • Also won the discus and set a new personal record in the hammer throw [164-5 (50.11m)] at the Battle of the Blues • Competed for Team USA in the shot put at the 2019 World University Games in Naples, Italy, where he finished 15th (18.33m).
2017-18: Qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round in both the shot put and the discus throw • Finished 24th in the shot put with a mark of 59-6 3/4 (18.15m) • Earned second-team All-ACC accolades after throwing 56-9 1/4 for sixth in the shot put at ACC Outdoors • Also finished 17th in the discus at the outdoor conference championships • Won both of his events at the Miami Hurricanes Collegiate Invitational, throwing the shot put 59-5 3/4 and the discus 184-1, the latter being a personal record and the third-best mark in school history • Captured the shot put title at the Battle of the Blues with a mark of 57-6 1/4 (17.53m) • Also won the shot put at the Raleigh Relays after throwing 58-10 3/4 (17.95m) as well as the UCF Black and Gold Challenge shot put competition with a distance of 60-1 3/4 (18.33m) • Did not compete during the indoor season.
2016-17: Finished 27th in the shot put at the NCAA East Preliminary Round after injuring his hand at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships • Earned second-team All-ACC honors in shot put at the outdoor conference meet after finishing fourth and throwing a personal-best 62-8 ¼ (19.11 meters) • That throw ranks second in UNC history • Also competed in the weight throw at the outdoor conference meet • Won the shot put at the Duke Invitational • Took fourth in the shot put at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships, earning second-team All-ACC honors with a personal-best 60-1 ¼ (18.32 meters) throw that ranks fifth in UNC history • Won the shot put and the discus at the Kent Taylor Invite • Also won the shot put at the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup.
