Emily Quatromoni is a 2012 graduate of Florida Southern College, where she earned a B.S in Athletic Training. Prior to graduating, Emily finished her undergraduate degree with an “off campus” internship at University of Maryland with the football and gymnastics programs. She chose to stay on at University of Maryland for another year as a certified athletic training fellow and continued to work with the football and gymnastics programs.
Following her two years at University of Maryland, Quatromoni attained a M.A. in Exercise and Sports Science with a specialization in Athletic Training in 2015 from the University of North Carolina. She served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working mainly with the Tar Heel women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs. Her thesis focused on establishing the reliability of a visual observation pitching assessment in adolescent pitchers.
Quatromoni returns to UNC after working at University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She served as the head athletic trainer for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving program and as well as oversaw the graduate assistant athletic trainer responsible for rowing. During her time in Knoxville, Quatromoni organized a weekly Journal Club with the graduate assistant athletic trainers that allowed the students to learn and improve their post professional education outside of the clinic. Quatromoni also had the opportunity to provide care for the Volunteer swimmers at the 2016 Olympic Trials and the 2017 World Championship Trials meet.
Quatromoni has presented at the NATA 2016 Clinical Symposia on Best Practice in Delivering Full-time Clinical Education from a student’s perspective. Her research interests include biomechanics and injury prevention. She has a strong interest in manual therapy and has also obtained Graston Technique M1 certification and myofascial decompression training.
She has been an NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since 2012 and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist since 2017. Quatromoni is a Florida native who currently resides in Carrboro, NC.
