2010-11 at UNC Greensboro: Went 1-2 as a redshirt freshman • Wrestled at 157 pounds • Competed at the Hokie Open where he won his first match before dropping his next two.

2009-10 at UNC Greensboro: Redshirted the season • Went 6-10 in unattached competition at five tournaments • Came in fourth place at the Davidson Open with a 3-2 record, including a 15-0 technical fall over Limestone's Chase Johnson • Also went 3-2 at the Virginia Tech Open • Competed at the UNC Pembroke Open, NC State Open and Southern Scuffle, as well.

Prep: Attended Lake Norman High School in Mooresville, N.C. after attending Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio • Two-time state placer in North Carolina • State qualifier during his time in Ohio • Went 134-24 during his high school career • Turned in identical 43-3 records as a junior and a senior • Two-time academic all-state selection.
