Jack Jensen, who earned All-America honors as a 184-pounder at Oklahoma State in 2008, is in his second year as an assistant wrestling coach at the University of North Carolina. Jensen works with the Tar Heels' upper weight groups.
In his first year at Carolina, he guided 197-pounder Dennis Drury and heavyweight Justin Dobies to spots at the NCAA Championships in 2009.
Jensen came to UNC from Ashland University in Ohio, where he joined the staff as an assistant coach in July 2008. Prior to his stint with the Eagles, Jensen was a standout at Oklahoma State. He was a member of three national championship teams (2004-06) and was an NCAA qualifier in 2007 and 2008.
Jensen captured All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in 2008 and also earned University Freestyle Nationals All-America status in 2005.
While in Stillwater, Jensen gained coaching experience on the staff for the Oklahoma State Wrestling Camps from 2004-07. He also worked as an instructor for Ringers Select in his native Sheboygan, Wis., from 2004-07.
He graduated from Oklahoma State in July 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in history.
Prior to college, Jensen attended Sheboygan North High School and was a two-time All-America and a three-time state place-winner.
