2009-10: Started at 149 pounds late in the season after finalizing transfer and logged a 4-5 record • Earned dual victories in his first two bouts against Virginia and Navy • Earned technical fall victory over Dan Castillo of Cleveland State as part of 4-3 dual record • Was the Tar Heels' entry at 149 in the ACC Championships.

At Nebraska (2008-2009): Recorded a 14-5 record and worked his way into the starting lineup before a knee injury sidelined him • Won the Fort Hays State Open on Dec. 6 with a 5-0 showing • Placed second at both the Kaufman-Brand Open on Nov. 22 and the UNK Loper Open on Dec. 13 with 4-1 marks at each • Notched his only dual win with a pin of Northern Colorado's Lance Gallegos • Torn meniscus ended his season, but he was granted a medical hardship for the season.

Prep: Prep: Earned two state titles at Cardinal Gibbons High while going a combined 128-0 during his junior and senior years • Won the championship in the 145-pound division at the prestigious Ironman tournament in 2008 • Named National High School Coaches Association Wrestler of the Year as a senior and was named a two-time All-American by the NHSCA • Ranked No. 3 at 145 pounds by InterMat entering college • Named to the honor roll in three of his final four semesters at Cardinal Gibbons and was inducted into the National Honors Society..
