2019-20: Finished redshirt junior season with a 20-8 record at 165 pounds • Went 0-2 at ACC Championships • Posted a 12-3 dual meet record • Defeated four ranked opponents on the year • Standout win came on Jan. 24 against Virginia Tech’s No. 3 David McFadden, a 21-6 tech fall • Placed seventh at the 2019 Midlands Championships • Win over Pittsburgh’s No. 12 Jake Wentzel helped lead UNC to a key ACC win in February • Runner-up finish at the Southeast Open
2018-19: Went 10-5 as a redshirt sophomore with a 3-1 dual meet record • Placed sixth at Cliff Keen Las Vegas, where he defeated No. 16 John Van Brill of Rutgers in an 11-4 decision • Runner-up at the Hokie Open • Narrowly defeated by Nebraska's No. 6 Isaiah White (5-4 decision) at 165 pounds in his final appearance of the season on December 15
2017-18: Went 21-17 as a redshirt freshman at 157 pounds with a 10-10 dual record • Finished third in the ACC at 157 with three wins at the ACC Championships and qualified for NCAAs • Went 3-2 at the NCAA Championships, starting with a win against No. 2 Joey Lavallee of Missouri • Pinned No. 7 Tyler Berger of Nebraska for his first dual win of the year • Went 3-2 in ACC matches. • Tied for team lead in pins with four.
2016-17: Won the 2017 National Collegiate Open at 149 pounds and took third at 149 at the Shorty Hitchcock during his redshirt season.
Prep/Personal: Two-time Texas state champion at Martin High School • Named Outstanding Wrestler at the Texas state tournament as a senior • Super 32 and Powerade All-American • Also took first at Mid-America Nationals • Academic Honor Roll student • Birthday is April 1 • Son of Kenny and Sabrina Monday • Father Kenny won gold at 74kg at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul • Also won an NCAA title in 1984 at Oklahoma State.
