2005-06: Posted a 37-9 record as the Tar Heels' starter at 141 pounds Tied for the seventh-most victories in Carolina history Earned All-ACC honors with a runner-up finish at the conference championships Received an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships where he went 0-2 Recorded a 20-1 mark in duals and was 6-0 versus the ACC Notched nine major decisions, five pins and four technical falls on the season Posted major decision wins over Jalil Dozier of NC State (12-0) and Nick Alparone of Virginia (8-0) before falling to Virginia Tech's David Hoffman (10-6) in the ACC final Won 17 straight bouts before the loss to Hoffman Also placed first at the Carolina Open, third at the Nittany Lion Open and fourth at the East Stroudsburg Open Named ACC Wrestler of the Week Nov. 28, following his Carolina Open title, and Feb. 6, after dual wins over Duke and Virginia Tech.

Personal: Vincent Toribio Ramirez is the son of Julian and Marie Ramirez Born Sept. 20, 1986, in Riverside, Calif. Majoring in psychology and communication studies at Carolina Has four brothers Oldest brother wrestled at NC State for one season, and brother Philip was on the team at Carolina.
