Amber Rinestine joined the Carolina football staff as the Director of Football Performance Nutrition in May of 2023. Rinestine returned to Chapel Hill after a two-year stint as the Head Football Performance Dietitian at Michigan St. She spent the 2020 season as Carolina’s football fellow working in nutrition.
Previously, Rinestine spent time at the IMG Combine (2020), the New York Jets (2019), the Philadelphia Eagles (2019 training camp) and the University of Oklahoma (2017-19).
Rinestine started her academic career in 2013 with an Associate degree in biology from Oklahoma City Community College before earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2015. In 2019, she received a Masters of Arts in dietetics from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, adding a Master’s of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2020.
Rinestine is married to Tripp Ressa. The couple has two dogs, Sweets and Sealee.
