Jasper Chang joined the UNC Sports Medicine staff in July 2022. His primary clinical responsibility is with men's and women's cross country and track and field.
Chang was a medical staff member for the US delegation at the 2024 World University Games in Chengdu, China.
Chang came to Chapel Hill after seven years at Princeton, where he worked with the women’s soccer and men’s track and field teams.
Chang is a 2010 graduate of the University of La Verne, where he earned a B.S in athletic training while competing on the cross country and track and field teams. Following his undergraduate degree, Chang earned a M.A. in kinesiology with an emphasis in rehabilitation sciences in 2013 from San Diego State University.
While working toward his degree at San Diego State, Chang served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of California at San Diego from 2010-13, where he was as an athletic trainer for men’s and women’s cross country and track and field, men’s volleyball, men’s soccer, women’s crew, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and men’s and women’s fencing.
He worked at San Diego Mesa College from 2013-14, primarily working with men’s volleyball, sand volleyball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving and men’s and women’s track and field before taking a position with Michigan State for one year as an intern athletic trainer for the Spartans' rowing teams.
Chang is a Licensed Athletic Trainer in North Carolina and has been a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) since 2010. Chang is a California native who currently resides in Chapel Hill.
