Katie Burger, a two-time graduate of UNC and Carolina letterwinner, serves as the executive assistant to the director of athletics.
Burger was a four-year member of the Carolina rowing team, earning ACC Academic Honor Roll accolades each year and CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors her junior and senior years. She graduated in 2014 as a double major in communications and sport administration.
Burger spent consecutive years working at the Southern Conference in operations and the NCAA in championships and alliances before returning the Chapel Hill to complete her master’s degree in sport administration.
Upon graduation in 2018, she joined the Carolina staff in the ticket office as the business manager, then shifted into the business office, where she spent nearly five years before transitioning to the administration team in 2024.
Burger and her husband, Bryan Gilliam, have three cats and enjoy baking and traveling.
