Katrina Konopka joined the GameDay team in early summer of 2022 as an event management and administration graduate assistant. She was promoted to assistant athletic director for event management in October 2025.
Prior to her time in Chapel Hill, Konopka graduated from the University of Arizona in 2019 with a degree in chemistry and as a competing member of the swim team. Konopka has gained valuable experience as a professional swimmer, representing TeamUSA at multiple international competitions. She has also served valuable roles as a coach and mentor to both aspiring athletes and chemistry students alike.
Konopka is expected to graduate with her Master’s of Sport Administration in May 2023 with her thesis focused on Olympic Sport ticketing and attendance policies.
