Peter Murphy

Peter Murphy, a 1997 UNC graduate and former team captain of the North Carolina Men's Lacrosse Team, joined Carolina men's lacrosse staff in the fall of 2022.
A three-year starter and All-America for Carolina, Murphy returns to his alma mater after years of success as a high school and club coach. Most recently in N.C., as the Defensive Coordinator at Cardinal Gibbons High School and as a Director and National Team Coach for True Lacrosse.
Murphy coached two undefeated high school state champions in his tenure as a coach—at Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) and Garden City High School (N.Y.). A native of Long Island, Murphy was also a two-time ACC Champion during his collegiate career, and he still holds his spot in the Tar Heel record books as third in all-time takeaways.
